a light colored silk, or adress made of any white material, with the endsof a ceinture to match, worked in the samepattern, completes a very elegant dress, fit forany evening occasion. A clear, but not too fineBrussels net should be selected on which tocommence the work, and a fine muslin, or stillbetter, a cambric, should then be laid evenly over the net and tacked down at both edges andseveral places between. The pattern is thentraced in soft embroidery cotton, and every linesewn over very neatly. The centres of theflowers are worked in solid spots on the net.All the intermediate parts of the muslin arethen carefully cut away, leaving the pattern inthe muslin. A finer embroidery cotton shouldbe taken for sewing the lines over than thatwhich is used for tracing the pattern. Theouter edge should be finished with a line of finebuttonhole-stitch, as it requires to be a littlestronger than the other parts. One of thesprigs would be sufficient to form the end of theceinture.
